Police file case against traders allegedly giving threats to assistant commissioner Mardan Gul Bano

MARDAN: On the complaint of assistant commissioner Hoti police station official has registered case against more than 24 traders for allegedly giving threats to Assistant Commissioner and stopping the anti-encroachments team from removing the encroachments at Shahedano Bazaar.

According to the Hoti police station official, Assistant Commissioner (AC) Gul Bano told police that she along with AAC-1 Gul Nawaz Khan, TOR Hanif Khan along with TMA staff and local police were busy in conducting anti-encroachments operation at Shahedano Bazaar. She added that during that time traders identified as Hafiz Dawood, Shahjehan and owner of Israr Formica Center along with other traders seized the TMA vehicle and started snatching the equipment’s collected from the shopkeeper during the anti-encroachment operation.

She added that traders also seized her vehicle and also hostage them. She added that the traders also give threats to her and encroachment team. She added that later on we went out on foot from the spot and left the vehicles on the spot.

She continued during that time the traders gathered at Shahedano bazaar and blocked the road for all kind of traffic.

She arched that shopkeepers Hafiz Dawood, Ghulam Sarwar, Shahjehan, Shamsher, Shahzad, Parveez Khan, owner of Jan Hotel, Naseem Khan, Saleem, Inayat, Khan, Imtiyaz, Khalid, Hamid, Faisal, Ayaz, Nabi, Tariq, Rafique Bacha, Haji Ikram, Gul Zahid, Lalzada and Yousaf delivered speech’s against the district administration.

Hoti police station official registered case against the mentioned traders under sections 341,342,186,506,148/149 of Pakistan penal code (PPC) and ¾ local government act.

Talking to the News Assistant Commissioner (AC) Gul Bano said that the encroachments disturb the traffic and other activities in bazaars. She added that on the directives of deputy commissioner Mohammad Abid Wazir the district administration has started anti-encroachment operation in the City.

She added that footpaths are the international right of the masses.

She said that the residents walking pass the areas also face lots of difficulty, because of stalls and push carts that are placed on footpaths.

Gul Bano told that she did not afraid from such type of tactics, threats and hurdles of traders. She added that the anti-encroachment operation will be continued without any discrimination in the City.

It may be noted that in past before Gul Bano former AC Asadullah has also started oprtion against the encroachments in the City, however the traders create hurdles for him and also staged protest camp outside Civil Secretariat against the former AC Asadullah, however later on the provincial government become compel from the traders and transfer Asadullah from Mardan.
