The Pakistani military says it has killed three militants along with a militant commander in an operation in Garhium, an area bordering North and South Waziristan.
The army said late on Sunday that it had made significant progress, conducting intelligence-led operations in the Gariom Shaktoi area of North and South Waziristan, killing militant commander Ehsanullah (Sunni) along with three other militants.
The army claimed that Ehsanullah Saeed was the central figure in several terrorist operations.
According to the army statement, he had recently been implicated in terrorist attacks in Shaktoi in which Lt. Nisar and Capt. Sabih were killed along with several other soldiers.

An army vehicle exploded in Shaktoi about 10 days ago, killing three soldiers, including an officer, according to the military.
The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, and the military said it had launched a search operation in the area after the incident.
After the incident, locals said a curfew had been imposed and accused security forces of torturing them.
The army did not comment on the curfew or arrests in the area, but security sources acknowledged the arrests in the area and later agreed to release them.
There were also protests in the area against curfews and violence.
