Overall situation of coronavirus in district Mardan

MARDAN: Screening of as many as 10,965 people were conducted throughout the district 553 people were test for corona virus in which 87 test came positive and 237 test came negative and 229 result are pending.

35 people were discharged from the quarantine and isolation center after complete recovery, sources said.

198 suspected of corona virus are under supervision at quarantine while 77 suspected are under treatment at isolation centers and 4 patients are on ventilator.

Sources added that swab of 73 suspected patients in quarantine is also send for test and if their test came negative they will also be discharged from the quarantine.

It may be noted that on 18th March Saadat Khan a resident of union council Manga after 10 days his arrival from Umra died at an isolation center.

Later on the district administration sealed              Manga union council and declared it quarantine.

Saadat Khan during his 10 days at his house meet several people visited his house to embraced him.

Saadat Khan after his aerial arranged a grand feast (Kharat) which was attended by more than 2,000 people visited his house to embrace him.

This incident becomes challenge for local administration.

District administration sealed Manga union council and shifted deceased family members, relatives and neighbors to quarantine.

The administration also started screening in union council Manga and especially Muslamabad village a native town of the deceased.

Later on Abdus Salam, Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) elected from PK-53, Superintendent of Police (Operations) Mardan Waqar Azeem Kharal, Station House Officer (SHO) Katlang police station Muhsan Fawad Khan also tested positive.

The lawmaker had visited Manga in connection with some relief work while the police officer were performing duty at Manga Union Council and got inflected.

In the initial staged of corona virus a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Zahir Shah Toru in a video on social media appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan to hand over Mardan district to Pakistan Army in order to stop the spread of corona virus in the district although Combined Military Hospital (CMH) had been closed for civilian patients.

Later on President of Young Doctors Association (YDA), Mardan chapter, Dr Ziaur Rahman in a video message also said that it would be difficult to control Covid-19 if efforts were not made to contain it.

In his message, he said that corona virus might get out of control in the Mardan district.

Manga union council has been under lockdown since it reported the country’s first death from the novel corona virus.

However in the current time the virus is spread to other parts of district as four family members of a deceased Shakirullah employee at district headquarter (DHQ) hospital resident of Mayar union council who died few days ago also came positive.

Similarly two cases of carnivorous also reported at Tehsil Takhatbhai.

However sources added that 4 contacts of Takhatbhai corona patients result also came negative while result of 7 contacts result is pending.

A doctor on the condition of anonymity said that they are facing problems in the testing process.

He arched that if government provided them corona testing machine and kits it will be very easy for the doctors in conducting test.

He continued that if government provide them testing machine it will be also become easy for the masses of surrounding district.

further he stated that there is also deficiency of Personal Protection Equipments (PPEs).
