Mardan police mum over killing of three persons, fail to apprehend alleged killers

MARDAN: After a week of the incident, the Mardan police

have failed to arrest the killers of three people, among them two students, who were killed by armed men in a daylight at main chowk of Mardan.

The deceases identified as Awais Khan son of Farooq Fateh Khan, student of D-Pharmacy at University of Lahore Islamabad Campus, Hasnain son of Shakeel Khan, a pre-engineering student and Raham Taj alias Babu, were en route to home on motorbike when the accused persons known as Arshad, Hammar Zada, Umair and Salar in a car chased them and opened indiscriminate firing on them.

As a result of firing, Awais, Hasnain and Raham Taj, died on the spot. The alleged killers managed to escape the crime scene after committing crime.

The video of the said incident also recorded by the nearby CCTV camera, which got viral on social media on which people expressed anger over the brutality of the armed men and also demanded for the arrests of the perpetrators involved in the triple murders.

In this regard, a grand Jirga was formed by the elders of area for provision of justice of the victims’ families. The elders of the Jirga said that the incident has taken place before a week but those alleged for this henious crime are freely wondering here and there.  The silence by police officials has raised many questions. The Frontier Post asked from the spokesman of Mardan police for comments on the incident but he did not response over the incident.

Members of the Jirga demanded of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. Sananullah Abassi to take notice of the triple murders case and provide them justice otherwise they will stage sit-in in front of provincial assembly till the provision of justice.
