Mardan: DEO suspends 51 teaching & non teaching staff for allegedly remain absent

MARDAN: District Education Officer (DEO) male, suspended 51 teaching and non teaching staff of different primary schools in Mardan district for allegedly remained absent from their duties, according to a notification No- 6824/G issued by DEO male Dr. Mohammad Idress.

It was stated in the notification that the Education Monitoring Authority (EMA) of different areas of Mardan district submitted report of different government primary schools for the month of October.

The report stated that 51 teaching and non teaching staff of different government primary school including 5 primary school head teacher (PSHT), 22 primary school teacher (PST), 5 senior primary school teacher (SPST) 9 chawkidar, 4 naib qasid, 5 junior clerk and 1 sweeper of different primary schools throughout the district remained absent from their duties.

It was stated in the notification that DEO male excise his power under E&D rules 2011 and removed the mentioned teaching and non teaching staff from their services in the best of public interest. Talking to the News Hafiz Zubair Ahmed provincial spokesman of Government Schools Officer Association (GSOA) strongly condemned the EDO for the removal of teaching and non teaching staff and said that the EDO misused his power.

He arched that the EDO did not follow the rules of E&D. He added the EDO issued notification on the report of EMA and awarded major plenty to 51 staff.

He said that however some staff was physically present at school but they did not sign the attendance registered,”some teacher were on C/leave”. He added

He said that before major plenty EDO should first issue notices to the mentioned employees.

He continued that the EDO violated the services rules and added that Government Schools Officer Association strongly condemned this act of EDO male Mardan and demanded the provincial government and secretary education to take action against the EDO Mardan and also to withdrawal the notification and conduct inquiry in this connection.
