KP police chief assures to keep police on its toes in merged districts

PESHAWAR: The chief of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Sanaullah Abbasi has said that as per the new law, Levies and Khassadar personnel are now part of the KP’s regular police force.

The IG was speaking at a police darbar held in Khyber tribal district.

Earlier, Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Ali Gandapur and Khyber DPO Muhammad Iqbal received the IGP at Police Training Center in Jamrud subdivision of Khyber district.

He assured that the tribal policemen would be provided all perks and incentives as enjoyed by the regular KP police force.

IGP Abbasi later visited  the Pak-Afghan border and inspected checkposts on the way. He was also brief by the army officials about border security.

Rs450 million approved for the infrastructure development: Meanwhile, The authorities were planning to build infrastructure for the police in the erstwhile FATA region. According to official sources, Rs450 million have been approved for the infrastructure development such as police lines, offices and checkpoints and police stations.
