MARDAN: Office bearers of Al Pakistan Paramedical Staff Association (APPSA) strongly condemned the violence and arrests of doctors and other staff in Quetta and demanded the government to immediately release the doctors and other staff and also arrest the torturers.
The emergency meeting held at district headquarter (DHQ) hospital, Shaharaftullah Yousafzai president (APPSA), provincial general secretary of paramedics association Rudad Khan, provincial additional general secretary Shamsh-ul-Taj, Finance secretary Fazl-e-Qayum, senior vice president Parveez Khan, vice chairman Sami-ur-Rehman and Taj Mohammad president paramedic DHQ attended the emergency meeting.
The emergency meeting was chaired by Sharafatullah Yousafzai via social media.
The speakers expressed great sadness and regret over the complex situation in which the whole world was engaged in the fight against the corona virus.
Speakers said that there is a procedure and all countries are paying close attention to the security measures for the Frontline Force, but in Pakistan, these soldiers were sent to fight without a gun.
They argued that due to the lack of protection kits many doctors, paramedics as well as other medical staff are suffering from the virus.
Speakers said that the Federal Grand Health Alliance (FGHA) demanded the federal government to provide security kits to health workers.
They added that in this connection on Monday the doctors and paramedics in Quetta staged a peaceful protest for the delivery of protective kits.
They continued that instead to provide kits and other facilities to the doctors and other staff the local police tortured and arrested them.
“we strongly condemn this act and demand the government to release the arrested doctors and employees immediately”,APPSA.
Speakers also demanded the judicial inquiry of the incident.
They added that the Joint Action Committee also approved the decision that if the Balochistan government does not release the arrested employees and does not take action against the police officer involved in tortured then meetings of different organizations across the country will be held and future plan will be announced in that meeting.
