Bid to smuggle heroin, ice foiled, three held

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control department Wednesday foiled a bid to smuggle huge quantities of drugs and arrested three alleged smugglers.

Director General (DG) of Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Fayaz Ali Shah has told media that a team of Excise Police, headed by Director Mardan Region Imad-U-Din and Excise and Taxation Officer Fazal Ghafoor Khan started snap checking of vehicles at Charsadda to Mardan road check Post.

He added that during searching of a suspicious vehicle, the Excise police recovered 1000 gram ice and 1000 gram heroin from the secret cavities of the vehicle and nabbed an accused on the spot.

Similarly, in the supervision of Excise and Narcotics Control Officer Masood-Ul-Haq, Station House Officer (SHO) of Excise police station Mardan Muhammad Riaz along with his team chased a suspected vehicle in Mardan.

On through search, 8000 gram opium, 2000 gram chars, twenty thousand bullets, 10 pistols and two metal detectors were recovered from its hidden places and arrested two alleged smugglers on the spot.
